Powerful Prayers for Cheryl

People who read the Bible regularly often 'forget' that they are praying too. There are so many ways to pray and the rosary is a wonderful way to pray as well. Even other faiths use beads to count their prayers and keep them 'on track'...

Most Christian faiths use the Our Father as a steady and strong prayer...

This is called a prayer circle and it looks so peaceful and so prayerful that I wish I could find it and go pray there...but I can still go there in my mind and heart...

Jesus gave His all for us, His heart, His life...just thanking Jesus is a prayer....

What strength there is when many pray together and that is why I am asking all of you to please pray for my dear friend, Cheryl. We worked together at CB & T bank for many years and she was ALWAYS sweet, gentle and kind to everyone. If something ever did upset her she would do everything to try to understand it from the offender's point of view.
A few years ago Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer and had one breast removed, went through treatment and seemed to do well. Then the cancer came back and got into her liver where it seemed to be contained and did not progress, but now it is in her brain and her stomach.
Is she bitter or melancholy? Nope...she is still being her sweet self to all the volunteers (both friends and ones who are paid) who are taking shifts visiting and staying with her, so join me in being a prayer warrior for her so that she can feel God's Healing Hand in whatever way possible even if it be only a continual healing from pain (so far she is pain free) and an ability to not get depressed...

We tend to think that prayer is so difficult that we must just stop and be totally still. While that is ideal, it is not the only way to pray, many little prayers work wonders and it reminds me of the fact that Cheryl must now eat little meals in order to hold her food down, so little prayers help in BIG ways....
Even when it seems like things stay the same, prayer changes things so much. Her only son has been so helpful to her even though he has two small children and he and his wife live in North Carolina. He recently stayed with her for 11 days. Cheryl seems to finally have the loving relationship with his wife that she always dreamed of...

So please take a moment now and take a moment later and then yet again to 'wing' prayers to Cheryl. She will 'feel' it as all prayer is 'felt.' I will be calling her after I finish this post and then I hope she is still well enough to be visited when I go down to Columbus, GA in two weeks....

This is a prayer labyrinth, yet another beautiful way to pray....

Michael and I will be going to Mass tonight for Cheryl as we just got this news last night from a mutual friend who is taking one of the shifts to stay with Cheryl. I will be asking the Holy Family to watch over her little family and keep them loving and kind...

This so depicts Cheryl's attitude towards all people, two kitties intertwined and forming a heart of contentment...Although Cheryl had been married (she is single now) a few times, I always felt she got married more out of not wanting to hurt the man's feelings, rather than realizing that he was not right for her...

So let's raise our hands joyfully to God in thanksgiving for wonderful people like Cheryl and the fact that the world is a better place for her being and having been in it....

Then, let me ask for a special angel to always be by her side as I knew I had when I was a little girl, an angel of comfort and strength...

I discovered that there are several people who have claimed to have written this poem, so the source is not so important, but the message is VERY important...

"One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

And because Cheryl has such a happy and tickled laugh, let me offer a few cute laughs for her (I am mailing her a bunch of funny jokes tomorrow)...

Funny Prayers

A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as
she could, trying not to be late for Bible class.
As she ran she prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!
Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!"
As she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell,
getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress.
She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again. As she
ran she once again began to pray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!
...But don't shove me either."

One night Mike's parents overheard this prayer: "Now I lay me down
to rest, and hope to pass tomorrow's test, If I should die before I wake,
that's one less test I have to take."
----------------------------------------------------------

A little boy's prayer: "Dear God, please take care of my daddy and
my mommy and my sister and my brother and my doggy and me. Oh, please take
care of yourself, God. If anything happens to you, we're gonna be in a big
mess."

A five-year-old said grace at family dinner one night. "Dear God,
thank you for these pancakes..." When he concluded, his parents asked
him why he thanked God for pancakes when they were having chicken. He smiled
and said, "I thought I'd see if He was paying attention tonight."

~~~Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessing of Cheryl for her kindness and example to me and others of being gentle and loving, please hold her in Your loving Hands always.
  8. Thank you all for your loving comments and prayers.
    I called Cheryl right afterwards and the ladies of her church are doing a 'walk around her home prayer' literally and should be there right now.
    Cheryl says to thank everyone for the prayers and that they definitely are felt!
    God is so good that I only cried once while talking to her (when I told her I was sending her my childhood special angel to watch over her).
    May God and His angels bless and be with everyone here!
